Last night it was the night of the Muppets. The curtains opened and we jumped onto the stage and it was the time of the Muppets. So we had to do our production. I was the Swedish Chef.
By Charlie Last night I was so, so excited because I was doing the show. It took a long time to go onto the stage. On the stage I danced to Rubber Ducky. I had to wear a towel around me and I had a shower cap on. I had fun. By Zoey Last night I went to the Bethlehem Performing Arts Centre. I was in the show. I was the chicken. Our show was the Muppets. There were other classes. I was so excited. We had to wait for a long time. The curtains opened. Some of the other shows were called Lego, Rugby, Haka and Stars Wars. My favourite was Lego because they had boxes and they made stuff. We came after the Gumboots song. I wasn’t tired when we got home. My Mum and Dad came to the show. By Te Rakei Last night I was nervous and then I was excited because I had to dance in front of all those people. We went onto the stage. The lights were shining in my eyes. I had to wait to blow the trumpet. I liked the Gumboot song because I like Fred Dagg. We were the Muppets. When I got home I wasn’t tired. I had sushi for dinner. By Carlos Last night I was so excited because it was our production. We were the Muppets and I was Rowlf the Dog. Hugo was Rizzo the Rat. I liked Stars Wars because they had nerf guns. By Tysen

Michael and Harold have been teaching us about healthy eating and how our body digests food.
We love going in the van to see Michael and Harold. This term we have had Janna from Go 4 It, teaching us balancing, jumping, moving and throwing skills. We have learned lots of new games and have had lots of fun.
Constable Den has recently been in the school teaching the classes how to keep safe.
We did lots of role playing. We learned to use our WITS in situations. We need to: W Walk Away I Ignore them T Tell them "Stop it, I don't like that" S Seek help if it doesn't stop. On Friday we were lucky to visit the Tauranga Library and Art Gallery. At the library we talked about fantasy creatures. The children acted out 'Where the Wild Things Are.' They then enjoyed creating some funny creatures and had time looking at some amazing pop-up books. After morning tea we went to the art gallery. At the art gallery we saw the Peter Madden, Mark Rodda and Alex McLeod "Otherworld" exhibition. Afterwards the children were able to make their own creations. Please enjoy the pictures from our visit. "Dem Bones" House of Science FunWe have been learning about dinosaurs in Room 9. This week we received the "Dem Bones" box from The House of Science. We had fun looking at bones, exploring the skeleton and doing sketches of the skeleton. It worked in well with discussing fossils.
The Junior School went on an overnight camp to Waitawheta near Waihi. On the first day we went to the Katikati Bird Gardens. We had a wonderful time looking at all the interesting birds. Next we went to camp. After we had set up our beds we set off down to a nearby river for a bit of kayaking and swimming. Many braved the chilly water. Then we went back to camp and had some free time then we had dinner. After dinner Mr Barthow and the teachers had organised some games and songs for everyone to take part in. It was a very entertaining evening. After the children were hyped up they went to bed. The next day we packed up under dark grey clouds. The decision was made to head to Bullswool Farm. The rain stayed away enough for the children to explore the farm and spend time with the animals. We then drove to the Waikino Train. Once onboard we waved goodbye to the parents and chugged along to Waihi. It was a fun trip on the train. Finally, we headed back to school after a very busy and enjoyable camp. Thanks so much to all the wonderful children and parents for an amazing camp. Room 9 and Room 4 recently worked together for two days. They made an awesome mural and bookmarks together. They went swimming and helped each other write and present a document about each other.
We had fun exploring bubbles. We watched a bubble video to see how bubbles move and what they look like. After that we designed and made our own bubble blowers. It was interesting to see the children change their ideas about what makes a good bubble blower. Then we had fun making bubble snakes with our new bubble blowers.
We have been learning about hats and their uses. We made some paper hats and decorated them. After that we learned how to write instructions. We wrote instructions so others could make a hat themselves. We think our hats are awesome.
