Room 7,8,9 and 13 had an overnight sleepover at school on the 12th March. Despite the bad weather all the children had two wonderful days. The Hamilton Zoo trip was postponed due to terrible weather, so the children had an awesome time at Lollipops and Fernland Spa. Then it was back to school to set up tents and beds. After fish and chips and some some songs the children headed off to bed. The weather didn't put off the campers. They braved the torrential rain, even if their beds got wet due to leaks in tents. Well done. The next day the weather was kind to us and we boarded the bus to Hamilton Zoo, with Mr Broadhurst as our driver. We saw some fantastic animals and learned some interesting facts in the Education Room. Please enjoy the photos of our fantastic camp. We wouldn't have been able to do this camp without the awesome support of all our parents. Thank you. Lollipops and Fernland Spa Camping Out at School

Room 9 were very lucky to visit the Tauranga Art Gallery on Monday. The exhibition was on the 50th Wildlife Photographer of the Year. There were amazing photos of animal behaviour and beautiful landscapes. The focus for our visit was the various textures in animal skins. In the Education Room we had the opportunity to draw an animal, then cover it with material to symbolise its skin texture. |
