The Junior School went on an overnight camp to Waitawheta near Waihi. On the first day we went to the Katikati Bird Gardens. We had a wonderful time looking at all the interesting birds. Next we went to camp. After we had set up our beds we set off down to a nearby river for a bit of kayaking and swimming. Many braved the chilly water. Then we went back to camp and had some free time then we had dinner. After dinner Mr Barthow and the teachers had organised some games and songs for everyone to take part in. It was a very entertaining evening. After the children were hyped up they went to bed. The next day we packed up under dark grey clouds. The decision was made to head to Bullswool Farm. The rain stayed away enough for the children to explore the farm and spend time with the animals. We then drove to the Waikino Train. Once onboard we waved goodbye to the parents and chugged along to Waihi. It was a fun trip on the train. Finally, we headed back to school after a very busy and enjoyable camp. Thanks so much to all the wonderful children and parents for an amazing camp.
